Report Details

The recent high-energy storm waves washed a lot of the high beach sand away, exposing long-buried driftwood logs and stumps, along with re-arranging the larger driftwood logs all along Mile 171.  At the beach access trail just to the south of the Driftwood Shores Resort, high tides/big waves have blown huge logs on to the access trail, making beach access/egress challanging (photos).Numerous reddish Pacific Sea Nettle (Chrysaora fuscescens) and common clear Moon (Aurelia labiata) jellies are washed up on the northern half of Mile 171.
