Mile 171 Report
Heceta Beach South, almost to North Jetty
April 16, 2018
Managed to walk Mile 171 between the spring showers.
Report Details
Managed to walk Mile 171 between the spring showers. Few people out today. A bald eagle was perched on one of the foredune high spots, trying to ignore the squadron of gulls and crows hovering around making lots of "Go away!" noise. No recent large stranding of Velella velellas observed, just a few here and there. An unusually large flock of probably 100+ sanderlings were feeding in the surf outwash (photo).
