Notable Wildlife

20 Canada Geese, 2 Tundra Swans, Surf Scoter 20, 1 White-winged Scoter, 2 Red-necked Grebe, 2 Black-bellied Plover, 4 killdeer, 2 Greater Yellowlegs, 20 Surfbird, 30 Sanderling, 90 Dunlin, 20 Least Sandpiper, 3 Western Sandpiper (with Least Sandpipers, about the same size, but with longer bill and gray back with white underside), 20 Short-billed Gull 2 Ring-billed Gull, 5 Western Gull, 2 Herring Gull, 130 California Gull, 3 Glaucous-winged Gull, 3 Red-throated Loon, 2 Pacific Loon, 1 Common Loon, 3 Brown Pelican White throated sparrow in campground. Lots of seeds on the wax myrtles.

Dune modification/removal, Sand removal. See photos. Major removal of dune grass and flattening of dunes.

The excavators were flattening an area of approximately 100 m in length. One truck was USFS.

My mile was actually inaccessible the ponds on either side of the path had grown together and blocked the path at least a hundred yards before the normal little ford I always have to cross It will be a while before that goes down.

My biggest surprise was the lack of trash, I nearly always bring three or four bags of trash off the beach, but not today.
