there was evidence that people had walked out from a campground on the southern limit of my mile.

there was evidence that people had walked out from a campground on the southern limit of my mile. That is the first time I have seen such tracks from that area. Other than that the beach was calm as normal

I only saw a few seagulls and black ducks

Seaweeds and seagrass, Animal casings (e.g., crab, shrimp molt), Land-based debris (picnics, etc.), Ocean-based debris (from fishing boats, ship trash, etc.), Marine debris (plastic, styrofoam, etc. washing in from the sea), Shells, Small rocks, Styrofoam, Wood pieces.
Natural Changes
there was eveidence of sand erosion just below the grassed dune possibly due to the rains

Very windy day and only saw one person on the beach.

It was a beautiful cold windy day.

My mile was actually inaccessible the ponds on either side of the path had grown together and blocked the path at least a hundred yards before the normal little ford I always have to cross It will be a while before that goes down.

My biggest surprise was the lack of trash, I nearly always bring three or four bags of trash off the beach, but not today.

With the effort of many volunteers we collected four heaping pickup loads of trash, including a hot water heater from a five mile stretch

My usual scenic walk along the Siltcoos River was under water today.
