Notable Wildlife
We counted 1,150-1,300 Dunlin on the wet sand, loafing, feeding, & sleeping. There were about 100 Sanderlings here & there, with a few Western Sandpipers mixed in. We also came across a few mangled jellies (Moons?), bits of Razor Clams & Sand Dollars. But there wasn't a trace of any Dungeness Crab parts, which was a bit unusual.
Dead Fish or Invertebrates
1 small dead fish, which Fawn thinks might be a Topsmelt. (Thanks Fawn!)
Driftline Content
Seaweeds and seagrass. Came across a 10' long piece of rope & a 1" square bit of a snack wrapper. The beach was otherwise clean, though we didn't walk the high tide line. As usual we didn't bring a microscope to look for microplastics which were doubtless present.
