Oswald West SP, Smuggler Cove, Short Sand Beach
June 5, 2011
It was warm and calm.
Report Details
It was warm and calm. It was very cloudy with a little fog. The air was still. Several tiny fish, about an inch long were in the water in the swash zone. The beach looked clean, I did not see the plastic debris as I usually do. The drift line composed of tiny crushed shells this time, not plastic. Two harbor seals (phoca vitulina) were swimming together in the surf. The salal (gaultheria shallon), salmon berry (rubus spectabilis), and thimble berries (rubus parviflorus) were blooming.
