Report Details

A steel platform washed up on Oswald West about a month ago. Volunteers are picking up the foam pieces that have broken away from the structure and state parks' staff is working on a plan for removal. Photos provided by CoastWatch volunteer John Morris.

Actions & Comments

State parks' staff is aware of the structure and is working on a plan to remove it, which could mean cutting it up piece by piece and carrying it up out of the beach. Volunteers are encouraged to bring bags to help pick up the foam pieces that are on the beach, but are advised not to approach the structure to remove the foam. If bags are left behind near garbage cans, please make sure they are securedly closed so that all the work to pick up the foam is not undone.
