Walked mile 298 to check for dead birds.

Walked mile 298 to check for dead birds. Observed:1 ancient murrelet quite old just wings1 black footed albatross older both wings still attached to shoulder girdle1 western grebe -- fresh entire carcass.Less than 1/2 bag of trash collected.Met mile 297 people who also did a bird mortality count.

There were many people enjoying their time on the beach, which is understandable because Nehalem Bay State Park is right behind mile 298.

It was very windy and rainy with just one person observed walking in the distance towards the southern end of the mile.

From the entrance to the beach from the state park, walking north, I saw about 40 people, eight dogs, three horses, lots of washed up upside-down crabs, and several small beached jellyfish.
