Kincheloe Point, South Jetty Tillamook River
August 1, 2020
I saw so many different types of birds along the jetty, I'm no bird expert but I thought I saw pelicans, herons, cormorants, and sea gulls.
Report Details
I saw so many different types of birds along the jetty, I'm no bird expert but I thought I saw pelicans, herons, cormorants, and sea gulls. I also noted thousands of Mole Crabs in the sand with the tide water washing them around. Found and collected some agates along this mile as well!
Conditions
Temperature: 60 F. Cloud Cover: Foggy. Wind Velocity: Calm/Light. Wind Direction: SW. Tide Level: 2.0 feet.
Human Activities
There was a group surfing the south jetty, some people were on the jetty itself, there were dozens of tourists walking the shoreline of the bayocean. Many groups of backpackers with camp gear setting up camps all over the beach and end of peninsula in the forest (thought there was no camping allowed). Lots of dogs off leash, running wild and owners not caring about any restrictions or social distancing.
