Today was a perfect beach day.

Today was a perfect beach day. Given that schools are now in session there were only 20 people on the beach either wallking or sunbathing. I picked up litter but given the busy laborday weekend there was less than I expected.

Temperature: 72 F. Tide Level: 4.0 feet.

Total dead birds: 2.

Small rocks, Seaweeds and seagrass, Shells, Animal casings (e.g., crab, shrimp molt), Wood pieces, Land-based debris (picnics, etc.), Marine debris (plastic, styrofoam, etc. washing in from the sea), Styrofoam, Ocean-based debris (from fishing boats, ship trash, etc.).

After days of rain the sun finally made an appearance, making for a pleasant afternoon on the beach.

It was a beautiful, sunny day although somewhat brisk. Some photos of recent erosion are attached.

The recent storms and high tides have deposited a lot of debris on the beach - especially small plastic fragments.
