It was a sunny, early spring type day. The unusual feature was the number of crab carcasses (mostly eaten by gulls), and sea stars on the beach.

Temperature: 62 F. Tide Level: 3.0 feet.

Number of people: 16. Number of dogs: 3. Walking or running: 11. Sitting: 4. Other Activities: Paragliding.

Small rocks, Seaweeds and seagrass, Shells, Animal casings (e.g., crab, shrimp molt), Wood pieces, Marine debris (plastic, styrofoam, etc. washing in from the sea), Styrofoam, Ocean-based debris (from fishing boats, ship trash, etc.). It was a bad day for crabs. There were hundreds of carcasses and body parts on the beach. Also which is most unusual, sea stars had washed up on the beach. I counted eight but there might have been more. (Some of these observations may have been on mile 275.)

After days of rain the sun finally made an appearance, making for a pleasant afternoon on the beach.

It was a beautiful, sunny day although somewhat brisk. Some photos of recent erosion are attached.

The recent storms and high tides have deposited a lot of debris on the beach - especially small plastic fragments.
