Overall condition of beach is very good.  Land slide slowly in process due to water flow from mountainside.  Cape Lookout South trail crosses creek, land slide not close to trail but should continue to monitor.

Number of people: 3. Number of dogs: 1. Walking or running: 3. Since beach is mostly secluded, only 3 other people were the beach during the timeframe I was there. I was there for 2.5 hours.

Notable Wildlife

Seagulls, bald eagle in flight, 2 jellyfish washed up on beach.

Total dead birds: 1. seagull

Driftline Content

Small rocks, Shells, Animal casings (e.g., crab, shrimp molt), Wood pieces, Marine debris (plastic, styrofoam, etc. washing in from the sea), Styrofoam, Ocean-based debris (from fishing boats, ship trash, etc.). Trash such as plastic bottles, plastic pieces, alcohol bottle, twine/rope pieces littered across the beach. I would recommend to bring a vehicle from Sand Lake Recreation or Camp Merriweather to pick up trash. Next time I visit, I will take a plastic bag.
