The day was the yearly Blessing of the Dory Fleet. Very poor weather but still a good turnout of dorymen and members of the community. One boat made it off the beach to place flowers on the ocean by Haystack Rock. Noted a large flock of mew gulls. They appeared to be resting in a tight flock on the upper beach. Estimate of 100 birds. No human activity to disturb them.Work in process on beach to improve dory access and the begining of sidewalk installation. This was required by Tillamook County as part of the approval for the new motel / condo / partial ownership building now close to completion.

We spent time and money to prevent the hotel / condo even taking the approval to LUBA but lost. The development now taking place fits in with County Planning approval.
