High number of visitors setting up for the fireworks show, small beach fires, many tents, swimming, kayaking, surfing, kite flying, corn hole, soccer, volleyball, one illegal vehicle in closed area. Number of people estimated to be 2500.

Over 750 people on the beach today enjoying the holiday in a variety of ways, from belly-button scientists observing tiny translucent fish in the surf zone to pods of people racing up and down the dunes.

Total Number of people: 331, dogs:12 Cars: 65 in parking lot, 5 on permitted area on beach 1 dory boat coming in from the surf no beached birds or mammals found Nice day at the beach, more people than I have encountered before at this beach. Since 15 January 25, I have not come a crossed a beached bird or mammal at Cape Kiwanda.

Nice day at the beach, sand level from the surf zone to high zone slopped gradual along the mile, except at the south end (un even levels due to buried logs, etc).
