Mile 257 Report
Porter Point, Nestucca River
November 2, 2015
After two king tides, 2 days of very high swell, and one day of heavy rain .
Report Details
After two king tides, 2 days of very high swell, and one day of heavy rain ... there appeared to be no major effects on the beach topography except for one instance of a small stream, running off the cliff and usually sinking into the sand, had had enough water to cut through the dunes to the surf. Much new drift wood and the older wood now cast up against the cliff base. No major pieces of debris, no Pacific rim debris, no glass. Most of the debris were the 'usual suspects' of plastic bottles, chunks of plastic of various sizes, a few fishing lures and in this case, a pumpkin. No signs of unexpected erosion. It was a lovely morning to walk and the rainbow was lovely and the light rain was refreshing.
