Gorgeous September afternoon on the beach. Much micro algae washing in, turning the sand green. More immature graffiti on the Roads End Headland (The Point). Also, a very decayed sea lion carcass near The Point. Came upon a couple kids playing in the caves dug into the side of the bluff at Roads End State Park. Explained the danger to them. Their parents seemed quite indifferent.

Number of people: 22. Number of dogs: 3. Walking or running: 16. Playing in sand: 2. Other Activities: kite flying. Advised a couple kids not to play on the bluff at Roads End State Park. Their parents were indifferent.

After king tides and heavy surf, most of the usual driftwood was up nearer the bank along with minimal bull kelp.

The beach mile varied quite a bit - with the south (less traveled) section with darkened sands and clear of most debris while the north end, with more visitors, was covered in stones with more small debris (esp.

Just wanted to say there have been a lot of brown pelicans this season, more than I've ever seen, and I'm wondering if they will stay for the winter?
