Contacted Park Ranger, Ryan Parker, regarding someone camping on the north end of Roads End beach, on an old slide area, bright blue tarp and yellow sign that says "No Trespassing".

Contacted Park Ranger, Ryan Parker, regarding someone camping on the north end of Roads End beach, on an old slide area, bright blue tarp and yellow sign that says "No Trespassing". Also informed him of very large dead sea lion just north of 73rd St. beach access. Submitted Stranded Mammal report to Mr. Rice. 5/9 Update: Per Ranger Parker, "It appears the tarp is on private property. The structure is fine unless nails, poly rope and other man made materials are used." Per Officer Liden with LC Police, they have been in contact with the owners of the property just above the camp but so far, have not been requested to take any action. See attached photo.

After king tides and heavy surf, most of the usual driftwood was up nearer the bank along with minimal bull kelp.

The beach mile varied quite a bit - with the south (less traveled) section with darkened sands and clear of most debris while the north end, with more visitors, was covered in stones with more small debris (esp.

Just wanted to say there have been a lot of brown pelicans this season, more than I've ever seen, and I'm wondering if they will stay for the winter?
