Actions & Comments
A nice day to observe the king tide. January 2, 2018 according to my tide guide for Taft had the high tide at 8.3. Since I am filing this report a day later, january 3, 2018, I was expecting the high tide line today to be lower since the tide chart said it would be 8.1. The high tide line on the 3rd was significantly higher possibly due to a storm coming in tonight. The tide was coming into the rap line and high banks of mile 244 and 245. The far north end of mile 245 would have been dangerous. The lesson is take the tide charts only as a guide.
