Report Details

Although there are signs prohibiting fires and fireworks, they don't seem to be enforced. The city tried to limit trash on the beach by providing extra containers, but they were mostly unused. Fireworks litter was disheartening, and the family of three picking up trash were the stars of the day.

Actions & Comments

Today's beach walk was about fog and litter. Visibility on the beach was minimal. I was unable to see many birds on the rocks along the shore. There was plenty of fireworks detritus from celebrations last night. I felt delighted to see a family of three picking up litter as I also spent much of my beach walk cleaning up trash. The city provided extra trash containers at the Wecoma parking lot, but they contained minimal debris.
