A warm overcast day.
Report Details
A warm overcast day. Five people, two dogs walking on the beach. Plastic bottles, handles and float parts picked up as trash.Four dead birds at the north end of the mile. See attached photos.
Conditions
Temperature: 65 F. Cloud Cover: Cloudy. Wind Velocity: Calm/Light. Wind Direction: SW. Tide Level: 2.0 feet.
Human Activities
Number of people: 5. Number of dogs: 2. Walking or running: 5.
Beached Birds
Total dead birds: 4. Birds were in the upper wrack and most fairly decomposed. Not sure of species but see photo.
Dead Fish or Invertebrates
Unusual concentration. Lots of crystal jellies from about 4" to 1" diameter washing up with each incoming wave.
Driftline Content
Seaweeds and seagrass, Animal casings (e.g., crab, shrimp molt), Land-based debris (picnics, etc.), Shells.

The beach was completely empty today.

Beach was completely deserted today. The only usable accesses are at 50B and in between properties 281 and 283.

Beach accesses are currently closed along Salishan Drive, except at the end of the road at access #50, and an unmarked access at lot #349.

Very little beach to walk on at this time of year at high tide.
