Report Details

Throughout mile 235 and into 234, there were 13 dead Cassin's Auklets washed up on the beach, many just at tide line, 1 dead seabird, (long neck and white belly - see photo), and one dead sea lion. Much foam and bull kelp on shore. This was just after low tide of the afternoon.

Temperature: 53 F. Cloud Cover: Cloudy. Wind Velocity: Calm/Light. Tide Level: 2.2 feet.

Activities

Number of people: 12. Number of dogs: 3.

Other Activities: 12 - 15 people walking the beach, 3 dogs.

Concerns

Apparent violations: none.

Beached Birds

Total dead birds: 14.

Stranded Marine Mammals

Total stranded mammals: 1. Unsure what species, deep cuts in body, newly deceased.
