Report Details

I first attempted this survey on June 17. Although the weather app said the wind was at 21mph, I'm guessing it was closer to 30 so I gave up. Too hard to walk into wind, sand whipping my face, getting into my eyes and mouth; the wind was actually shaking my car as I made these notes.June 22 was a better day -- still moderately windy, but manageable! The dunes are building up. There was a lot of human activity (see above), typical for a summer weekend afternoon/evening. Nothing particularly remarkable about the beach or wildlife, except for a high concentration of small dead mole crabs. I noticed there is a lot of growth of English ivy taking over the tree trunks in some areas along the creek; I don't think it has previously been this noticeable. Brass Buttons in bloom along the creek. The creek is low and shallow.
