Report Details

Very few people on the beach; most of them arrived just prior to sunset (which was beautiful). The beach was clear, clean, very little wrack, and the dunes have largely flattened out. Not a scientific assessment, but it felt like a very peaceful place to be. The surf was beautiful with long, even waves breaking, and spume flying off the crests due to the east wind. There was a possible sub-adult (shorter bill) snowy egret fishing along the creek. I couldn't see its feet, nor could I get a clear shot with my phone camera, but it wasn't as large as a great egret, or as small as a cattle egret.
