Report Details
It was a fine day for the beach, not windy, sometimes cloudy sometimes with sun peeking through. There weren't many dogs, but people were enjoying the beach. The beach was wide and wet. For a long stretch, the sand was stained a very dark brown where the tide had retreated, almost as if there had been oil in the water. The wrack was much greater than when I walked the beach last month. There were cigarette packets, bottles (both plastic and glass), the bottom of a large jug, a shoe, a plastic float, many small and not-so-small pieces of plastic. I was surprised to see all the places where a little sand and rock had come down: there is always erosion, but there seemed more different examples than usual.
