Stranded Marine Mammals
Total stranded mammals: 1. Slightly south of Curtis Street beach access, a white-sided dolphin had very recently washed ashore and died. I called the Marine Mammal Stranding number and was on hold when we met a woman who had just called to report the stranding. Shortly afterwards, Jim Rice arrived and collected the dolphin. The dolphin was still fully intact with the exception of one eye. Fresh foam was visible on top of its blow hole.

One large fish fin found on the tide pool rocks at south end of mile 207.

Today I came across a small seal or sea lion about 4 feet in length washed up on the shore.

Walking my mile, I noticed a tiny spotted baby seal washed up inbetween some surf tumbled sandstone.
