Relatively calm day after back-to-back weekend storms.

Relatively calm day after back-to-back weekend storms. Only two other beachgoers sighted. Very clean sand; a few gulls. Major event was discovery of dead Steller sea lion, which had been entangled in and garroted by a rope that was attached to a small beam. The animal had obviously been dead for some time; was probably washed ashore during storms. Photos attached.

Some gulls, not a large number
Stranded Marine Mammals
Total stranded mammals: 1. Sea lion, apparently dead for some time, .5 to .75 miles S of Tillicum campground. Death obviously caused by entanglement and garroting with rope attached to small wood beam. See photos.
