Report Details

Relatively calm day after back-to-back weekend storms. Only two other beachgoers sighted. Very clean sand; a few gulls. Major event was discovery of dead Steller sea lion, which had been entangled in and garroted by a rope that was attached to a small beam. The animal had obviously been dead for some time; was probably washed ashore during storms. Photos attached.
