Report Details

What a gorgeous February day. This is not my mile, but it was so wonderful I'm filing a dispatch report. There were many people enjoying the beach - about 25-30. Most people had a dog with them. Compared to my usual mile (215 - Newport north of jetty), there were so many rocks and shells on the beach. The beach was clean...free of human trash. The only noteworthy thing was a dead wild steelhead (not clipped), about 10" long.

Conditions

Temperature: 58 F. Cloud Cover: Sunny. Wind Velocity: Calm/Light. Tide Level: 6.75 feet.

Another beautiful day and a very clean beach -- impressive given the full campground at the height of summer.

A pretty, quiet morning on the mile; only about 30 people and 5 or 6 dogs (unleashed) were out on the beach.
