Day was mild, cloudy with intermittent rain, mild wind. Surf was higher than I've seen it. There were more logs and wood debris than usual at Yachats State Park. It seems as if there is more shore erosion occurring both north and south of the Yachats River, and south of the river I saw an uprooted willow and what seemed like more vegetation barely holding ground.Surfbirds (I think) were grazing at the north end of mile 193, fleeing the large waves and spray.
