It was a sunny calm morning with no one in the parking lot when I arrived.

It was a sunny calm morning with no one in the parking lot when I arrived. A fog bank sat just off shore beyond the breakers. The beach sand appears to have started moving off shore revealing loads of baseball size rocks. There were a couple of decomposed birds and dog like foot prints on the sand, perhaps from an early morning coyote visit. Numerous pelicans were resting on the off shore rocks.

Temperature: 70 F. Cloud Cover: Sunny. Wind Velocity: Calm/Light. Wind Direction: S. Tide Level: 2.5 feet.
Human Activities
There was a fog bank about off shore.
Notable Wildlife
A couple of hundred very vocal gulls at cape creek.
Beached Birds
Total dead birds: 2. Two unidentified dead birds. Took photos of head and feet one.

Seaweeds and seagrass, Land-based debris (picnics, etc.), Wood pieces. large logs

The 40 foot long juvenile male fin whale which was washed up on Sunday the 8th was being buried in an 11 foot deep trench by a local Florence excavating company.
