Mile 169 - North end Siuslaw South Jetty Road - January 21, 2015

Report Details

The effect of the King tide wasn't noticeable on this mile (however, it was noticed on the nearby almost overflowing Siuslaw River east of Florence).The high tides along with recent rain upriver brought down an abundance of all size of driftwood as seen in the attached photos.Three lonely gulls were the only indication of life on the beach. Lots of small bits of plastic that appeared to be the same type that has drifted in from the 2011 Japanese tsunami. Two floats, several plastic bottles plus extra bottle caps..more small bits of Styrofoam.Almost windless and partly sunny, beautiful day for a walk on the beach.
