Mile 16 - Boardman SP, Natural Bridges, Miner Cr, Deer Pt, Arch Rock - August 2, 2008

This is the section of Mile 16 I call Miner Creek. Nothing of concern was seen on the trail. Since the day was so calm, the lack of any Harbor Seals in the water or sunning on the rocks may indicate a reduction in seal activity in the area caused by what?

Because there was no wind and the waves were quieter than normal I could hear many birds that I couldn't see on the rocky sea stacks in the water

I often see harbor seals here either in the water or basking in the sun when it's so calm. None today though

Actions & Comments

The potential problem I observed the last time I reported this section of my mile in March 08 seems to be no problem. The foliage has grown to prevent someone from looking down over the edge to view the creek. From below the section that was sliding into the creek looked like it was being held well by spring/summer foliage and lack of rain.
