Mile 14 Report
Boardman SP, cliffs, Thomas Creek
March 17, 2020
The amount of trash and it's location on a steep slope make it difficult to retrieve.
Report Details
The amount of trash and it's location on a steep slope make it difficult to retrieve. And a pickup truck is probably necessary to haul it away. Suggestion: To prevent future problems like this, some type of barrier should be installed to prevent vehicle access to this area.
Conditions
Temperature: 48 F. Cloud Cover: Cloudy. Wind Velocity: Calm/Light. Wind Direction: NW. Tide Level: 1.5 feet.
Human Activities
This is to report trash along the trail. About one-quarter mile north of the Whaleshead Trailhead, there is a Highway 101 turnout with access to a parking area hidden in the trees. This area is often used for illegal camping. Apparently, someone who camped in this area dumped a lot of trash down the slope next to the trail. (See photo.) The amount of trash is quite large, including what looks like a piece of particleboard.
