Mattress dumped alongside trail near Highway 101 turnout just north of Whaleshead Trailhead.

Human Activities

This is to report a mattress dumped alongside the trail just ¼-mile north of Whaleshead Trailhead. The spot is behind a clump of trees at a Highway 101 turnout and alternate trail access. After this mattress is hauled away, I suggest that a barrier be placed between the turnout and the short road up behind the trees, as this area is often used for illegal camping which has led to trash being dumped here in the past.

There was nothing unusual to report, despite that many footprints in the cliffside dunes indicate lots of recent visitors.
