Report Details
The BLM had a caterpillar grade the Snowy Plover nesting area behind the beach. No ropes or signage was visible on the beach as was present in past years. Perhaps it is too early. Small patchy amounts of shells and wood in the driftline. A few Bull Kelp clusters on beach. Fifty Sanderlings foraging in the surfline. Three Ravens and three gulls in area. One dead Northern Fulmar. Erosion of the vegetated foredune. Low human impact (2)-walking.

Number of people: 2. Walking or running: 2. No signs of any human or vehicle encroachment.
Concerns
Notable Wildlife
About 50 Sanderlings working in the surf, one on the beach. Three Ravens and three gulls were in the area. A few shells and spots of bullkelp clusters on the beach.
Beached Birds
Total dead birds: 1. One Northern Fulmar corpse found.
Driftline Content
Shells, Wood pieces. Very little material in the driftline, patchy.
Man-made Modifications
Dune modification/removal. BLM graded the Snowy Plover area behind the beach.
Natural Changes
Erosion of vegetated foredune. Some evidence of sea wall erosion in small areas of the beach.

Mile 138 was clean and mostly lacking notable wrack of a small number of shells, animal casings, kelp/algae wood pieces and Styrofoam.

This vehicle prohibited mile was without tire tracks, and the only sign of humans was four sets of footprints, three barefoot, at the far north end of the mile.
