Mile 138 was clean and mostly lacking notable wrack of a small number of shells, animal casings, kelp/algae wood pieces and Styrofoam.

Mile 138 was clean and mostly lacking notable wrack of a small number of shells, animal casings, kelp/algae wood pieces and Styrofoam. Two dead Northern Fulmar. One sparrow and one raven were noted. The presence of one human exercising his two dogs may have moved some birds from the area. Waterfowl were seen within the small lagoon area.
Conditions
Temperature: 48 F. Cloud Cover: Sunny. Wind Velocity: Calm/Light. Wind Direction: SW. Tide Level: 1.5 feet.
Human Activities
Number of people: 1. Number of dogs: 2. Walking or running: 1. No signs of vehicle traffic within the closed area. One man walked his two dogs the entire length to Tenmile Creek, and back. Other than their tracks only some deer and birds had frequented the beach.

Notable Wildlife
No birds or mammals were seen on the trip. A small assortment of mole crab and dungeness crab shells were scattered along the beach. Very little wrack and/or seaweed were visible.

Total dead birds: 2. Both were Northern Fulmars.

Small numbers of mole crab and Dungeness shells were scattered along the beach.
Driftline Content
Seaweeds and seagrass, Animal casings (e.g., crab, shrimp molt), Shells, Styrofoam, Wood pieces. The beach was mostly smooth and free of debris.
Man-made Modifications
I received notice that modifications of the seawall would take place pending permits. Both north and south of Tenmile Creek they plan to reduce the height of the seawall and shift sand around to better facilitate Snowy Plover nesting.

This vehicle prohibited mile was without tire tracks, and the only sign of humans was four sets of footprints, three barefoot, at the far north end of the mile.

The beach was pretty much as expected for winter storm activity.
