A much-degraded pup of a marine mammal washed up on the night high tide several yards north of the 11th St. stairs at Coquille Point. Even Jim Rice couldn't tell for sure whether it was a sea lion or a seal fromthe 2 photos sent by phone this morning about 7:45. Length about 2.5 feet. Much of the fur coat was missing. Stranding was reported by me.
Conditions
Temperature: 47 F. Cloud Cover: Cloudy. Tide Level: 1.4 feet.
Human Activities
Several dog walkers, but only 3 leashed.
