A large crane has been stationed on top of the bluff just south of Coquille Point for several weeks, doing some sort of construction or restoration work above one of the houses that sits just above the beach.

A large crane has been stationed on top of the bluff just south of Coquille Point for several weeks, doing some sort of construction or restoration work above one of the houses that sits just above the beach. About 10 harbor seals were resting on the rocks at Coquille Point. An osprey was seen flying overhead also at Coquille Point.

Number of people: 41. Number of dogs: 8. Walking or running: 30. Photography: 3. A beautiful day on the beach with light winds, People were happy to be out on the beach. Bicycle tracks on the beach were visible.

New Development
Steps down bluff, Bluff development. A large crane has been stationed on top of the bluff just south of Coquille Point for several weeks, doing some sort of construction or restoration work above one of the houses that sits just above the beach. The beach access stairway below the Sunset Motel was closed for restoration work and there is construction work going on in the motel parking area on the bluff. The beach access stairway at 11th Street has a new wider step at the bottom of the stairs, creating an easier access on and off the beach.
Natural Changes
The recent larger surf has caused more rocks to be exposed on the beach.
