Report Details

I've been watching a harbor seal pup below Coquille Point since May 15. It is alert and hugs the rocks and high-tide areas around the two passes near Elephant Rock. I have yet to see its mother on sand but have noticed at least one adult swimming just north of the pup. Diane Bilderback and Eric Murtz are aware of the pup, but I don't know if they're monitoring later in the day.

Conditions

Temperature: 54 F. Cloud Cover: Cloudy. Wind Velocity: Calm/Light. Wind Direction: N. Tide Level: 5.6 feet.
