Report Details

Plenty of people and dogs out enjoying a cloudy, mild late afternoon. Unfortunately, there was also plenty of garbage and debris to be found as well. Filled two kitchen garbage bags with assorted plastic rope & bottles, beer and pop cans (they don't burn well, but people keep trying), paper, cardboard and so on. Too big to bag were a heavily rusted but empty 55 gal. drum (no markings), and a 10 cu. ft. hunk of Styrofoam. We were able to deliver them to the park host at Manhattan Beach State Wayside for a later pick up by a Park Ranger. Rockaway Beach should be looking a bit better for the Kite Festival and Memorial Day observance.
