Summary:
Just a perfect day with lot's of people enjoying it. Found very few items of litter, a couple of cans & bottles and several pieces of plastic all easily removed...not so much for a hunk of rope buried in the sand, as I had to cut off what I could reach. A few new logs found their way to the beach, and the winter tides have removed sand in some places, while adding it in others... a fair trade

A pretty clean beach! Litter patrol generated about 1/2 of a kitchen bag...mostly glass and plastic bottles, flip flops & clothing, assorted plastic and paper goods...all less than usually found...
February 23, 2018 - stu and barb
Way more people than expected on this cold and windy day.  The usual shells & small rocks decorated the sand and a handful of seagulls braved the elements.  Not a lot of beach junk but more...

November 29, 2017 - stu and barb
Just a handful of people (15) but lot’s of driftwood and small wood pieces, along with a generous smattering of pyrosomes that had drifted in from warmer seas.  Saw a few seagulls making a meal of...
  • Sea foam or icebergs?
  • Pyrosomes out of their element
  • Sanderlings doing their thing.
  • New sea grass planted south of the wayside.
September 1, 2017 - stu and barb
Lots of people...and seagulls, getting a head start on Labor Day.  Saw about 60 people and an equal number of seagulls (only grouping was at Rock Creek), and 10-20 crows.  Some clumps of seaweed at...
June 5, 2017 - stu and barb
Pretty happy with the condition of our beach, especially just one week after Memorial Day and the kite festival crowds.  Picked up less than one bag of the routine bottles, cans, small plastics...
February 7, 2017 - stu and barb
Pretty typical Feb. afternoon...24 people and 7 dogs braving the windy & cloudy beach, with rain coming soon.  Recent high tides have left their mark on the dunes and streams.  Modest amount of...

A calm and mild morning for our walk.  Modest amount of seaweed in spots but the beach is very clean with just a few rocks & shells visible.  It's a different story up at the high tide line near...
August 28, 2016 - stu and barb
A beautiful morning to do our walk, this time with the help of our granddaughter Josie. Nothing unusual to report, just the everyday variety of "human" debris...lots of paper, plastic, cans, cigarette...
June 4, 2016 - stu and barb

March 7, 2016 - stu and barb
This is the way you like to find your mile...very clean beach, and lots of people, dogs, and birds enjoying it. Picked up some assorted pieces of plastic and styrofoam and two bottles...but not...
