Report Details

We were surprised not to find more debris on the beach- it was mostly squeaky clean, except for a few areas with small styrofoam pieces.

Conditions

Temperature: 65 F. Cloud Cover: Sunny. Wind Velocity: Calm/Light. Tide Level: -0.1 feet.

Human Activities

Number of people: 136. Number of dogs: 11. Walking or running: 45. Playing in sand: 80. Fishing: 5. Other Activities: 3-diving. The beach was surprisingly clean of debris- there was some Styrofoam (smallish pieces) but very little litter and no evidence of tsunami debris. No dead birds or animals. Not much to report this time… It was nice to see so many kids out on the beach having a great time though. On the trail back to the jetty parking lot we were eaten alive by mosquitoes (imagine the African Queen mosquito scene). We have never seen it so bad.

Vehicles

Cars/trucks parking: 34. RVs/Buses parking: 1.
