Beach continues to have a gentle slope and is free of human debris.

Beach continues to have a gentle slope and is free of human debris. Small crustaceans found all along the tide line. The "cliffs" at the north end of the mile appear to be eroded into a greater slant. Between "Sisters' house' and Neskowin Crest (mid mile) there were four trails into the dunes (with evidence of human usage) which are causing erosion.

Temperature: 60 F. Cloud Cover: Cloudy. Wind Velocity: Calm/Light. Wind Direction: NW. Tide Level: 5.3 feet.

Number of people: 40. Number of dogs: 12. Walking or running: 25. Playing in surf: 3. Sitting: 2. Other Activities: playing baseball -7 flying kites -3. Between "Sisters' house' and Neskowin Crest (mid mile) there were four trails into the dunes (with evidence of human usage) which are causing erosion.

Total dead birds: 1. immature sea gull

The north 1/2 mile of 254 was recently eroded to the point that I did not recognize it.

One cannot help but notice the 120+ large clumps on entangled kelp all along mile 254.

The north half mile of 254 (after the end of the rip rap )has experienced serious erosion.

There is a marked difference between the 1/4 mile of rip rapped beach with its gentle slope and 2' shelf of sand blown against the rocks AND the north 3/4 mile where the dunes are receeding and are eroding in height.

It has been two months since my last observation and, of course, there have been many storms, a great deal of rain and high winds in that time.

One dead sea lion which I understand is all too common at this time on the Oregon Coast.
