The two most unusual features of the mile included a significant portion of the north end with the sand washed away to reveal a rock floor, and the amount of small plastics visible at about the halfway point in the mile.

For the past few days a very large raptor, possibly a Golden Eagle, has been cruising the northern end of Roads End beach.
