The two most unusual features of the mile included a significant portion of the north end with the sand washed away to reveal a rock floor, and the amount of small plastics visible at about the halfway point in the mile.

About 20 of these spongy, golf-ball size creatures were in the wrack line at the far north end of Roads End beach.

For the past few days a very large raptor, possibly a Golden Eagle, has been cruising the northern end of Roads End beach.
