Saturday.  Sand Art on the Beach competition at Roads End S.P.  Low tide (-0.5 ft.).  Consequently, beach was very busy with tidepoolers and agate hunters.

Conditions

Temperature: 60 F. Cloud Cover: Foggy. Wind Velocity: Calm/Light. Wind Direction: N. Tide Level: -0.5 feet.

Human Activities

Number of people: 55. Number of dogs: 1. Walking or running: 11. Playing in sand: 10. Photography: 2. Tidepooling: 15. Fishing: 2. Small beach just north of Roads End, underneath God's Thumb formation is very popular for agate hunting at low tide. There were many people there.

Concerns

Climbing bluffs/seastacks

Apparent violations: 2 young men observed climbing down to beach from God's Thumb rock formation..

Notable Wildlife

Nothing out of the ordinary. Low tide exposes rocks and tide pools; observed sea stars, anemones, large mussel colonies on the rocks, barnacles, kelp, etc.

Small rocks, Seaweeds and seagrass, Animal casings (e.g., crab, shrimp molt).

Natural Changes

Ongoing small landslides and rock falls on small inlet

During negative tide, observed few new/unusual species I haven't observed in the area previously including a purple sea urchin and 2 large lion's mane jellys. See pics.

Very low tide level and accumulated sand allowed many people to walk around cliffs to cove below God's Thumb.
