Post summer survey of Mile 99 showed movement of Johnson creek approx 1/4 mile north from last survey. The creek no longer runs close along the foredunes and bluff rather runs a straight line to the ocean. The sand dunes along the mile are much diminished going into Fall. Very few people were on the beach, despite the good weather.

Temperature: 58 F. Cloud Cover: Partly Cloudy. Wind Velocity: Calm/Light. Wind Direction: NW. Tide Level: 2.0 feet.

Total dead birds: 1. 1 Common Murre carcass
Stranded Marine Mammals
Total stranded mammals: 1. 1 Sea Lion carcass found and reported to Mammal Stranding. Exam was performed by local Mammal Stranding volunteers and report submitted.
Driftline Content
Small rocks, Seaweeds and seagrass, Shells, Animal casings (e.g., crab, shrimp molt), Wood pieces. Very little plastic and styrofoam debris noted.
Natural Changes
Erosion of vegetated foredune. Some erosion of foredunes since last survey

Mile 99 is now mostly flat, without the sand dunes seen on the last survey.

Although there has been over 9 inches of rain since October 1, both creeks (Johnson and Crooked) on mile 99 are at lower than expected levels of max depth of approx 5 inches at usual crossing spots.
