This was an exceptionally warm Saturday so there were more people on the beach than I usually see but everyone was well behaved and loving the rare chance to be on the beach (and even a few brave souls in the water) without multiple layers of coats.

Report Images

Status report of last year's landslide. Recovering nicely
This is really the only piece of litter I saw on the beach and it looks like it came in on a tide some time ago
This little section of slide was not there last fall. Only a bit of material has fallen so far
It has not rained recently and I have not seen water here before so I am wondering if something uphill had diverted a nearby stream into a new path.
A little bit of erosion action

Very little trash on the beach today. I've never seen large barnacle shells like I saw today or the clumps of shellfish in the wrack line.

Beautiful day! Sunny blue skies, calm winds and warm (Tee Shirt weather) People and dogs enjoying the day with the weather about as good as it gets here. Beaches looked clean and in good shape. It doesn't get much better than this.

Odd large pieces of trash near Battle Rock. Lots of bottle caps in wrack line. Many small pieces of plastic in the wrack line near Hubbard Creek. I remember my mom showing me an aluminum railing from a shipwreck sticking out of the rocks on this beach years ago when the sand was low.

I was astounded by the mass of humans on the beach, so I thought I'd report it. Port Orford made plans for beach cleanups of both the dock beach and the Battle Rock beach for July 5th.
