Again, a great way to start a New Year, new decade.

Again, a great way to start a New Year, new decade. Most notable, the cliff erosion below established dwellings. On a positive note, marine and land debris minimal - less than a full SOLV bag. The concept of "pay it forward" is beneficial to us all, and especially the environment. Another fab day on our beautiful Oregon coast!

4 adult BLOY - observed standing and in flight between Miles 39 and 40. Food supply apparently abundant.
Driftline Content
Ocean-based debris (from fishing boats, ship trash, etc.), Marine debris (plastic, styrofoam, etc. washing in from the sea), Small rocks, Styrofoam.
Natural Changes
Erosion of vegetated foredune, Visible retreat of solid bluff. Continuing erosion and drainage pipe exposure from development in Pigeon Pt. area.
Actions & Comments
Pigeon Pt. wooden steps washed or pulled away; full concrete bags used as steps and to secure some steps remain. At the suggestion of CW, we have attempted to make contact with a State of Oregon regulatory official so we may be informed as to the lawfulness/propriety of this stairway. We have not rec'd a response.

The mile could not be accessed from Arizona Beach -- Mussel Creek was impassable; the southern access from Frankport site was flooded, we parked in the area south of that.

Seasonal sands have arrived, making this mile very accessible.

Mussel Creek channel is meandering, narrower and deepening.

Mussel Creek continues to flow south to north, and then west to join the ocean.
