Report Details
Pleasantly warm day with quite a few people enjoying the warm weather, sunning themselves or wading in the surf (21 people and 4 dogs and 12 cars on the beach, 24 cars in parking lot). The only drawback was the powerful smell of rotting velella velella, which was in very high concentrations on the beach. We found a large diameter rope in the drift line that was covered with live gooseneck barnacles. Although we don't believe they are of any concern, we reported it to a ranger at Fort Stevens. They said they would go pick it up.
