Report Details

Walked south of the Del Rey beach entrance 0.5 miles to cover one half of mile 327. I collected about 20lbs of trash from this part of the mile. Notable debris included fishing gear (ropes, bait bucket, rubber worm), plastic bottles and bottle caps (including one bottle with Korean writing and one bottle with Chinese characters on the label), a large wooden pallet covered with live pelagic gooseneck barnacles, and large chunks of styrofoam. I found one dead seabird: a juvenile common murre.

Conditions

Temperature: 55 F. Cloud Cover: Partly Cloudy. Tide Level: 1.1 feet.

Human Activities

Quiet, partly cloudy day with very few cars and little human activity on the beach except for a few people walking on foot.

Actions & Comments

I contacted the local beach ranger to let them know I left the SOLV bags filled with beach debris at the Del Rey Beach entrance site.
