The beach had a light amount of debris and a large number of dead Purple Sails or velella velella on the beach. Healthy, lightly used beach!

Unusual concentration. Large amounts of dead Purple Sails or velella velella, small blue creatures dying in large numbers on the beach.

Nothing unusual. Still undeveloped beach. Only one house remains and it has never appeared to be occupied.

It was a busy pre-holiday weekend at the beach.

A mild morning walk on mile 311 during an outgoing tide revealed 5 species of nudibranch, 3 species of anemone, and an impressive flock of 150 surfbirds that landed in the rocky outcroppings between Jockey Cap and Silver Point.
